Price List uses Joomla's own ACL (Access Control List) system, the same permission structure you already know from articles and other core content. This means you control, per user group, who can view, create, edit or delete items and categories, without any Price List-specific permission system to learn.

Where to set permissions

Permissions can be set at three levels, and each more specific level can override the one above it:

• Component options: the default for the whole Price List component.
• Category: overrides the component default for items in that category.
• Custom field: controls who can see or edit that specific field.

Common use

A typical setup: give a client's user group Create and Edit Own on a specific category, so they can manage their own items through Frontend add or edit, without giving them access to any other category or to the Joomla administrator.
