Due Date

If you want tasks to change color as their due date approaches or passes, download and install the Checklist - Due Date plugin like any other plugin. The plugin is activated automatically upon installation.

How does it work:

Once active, any task with a due date set gets an automatic status:

  • On time: no extra styling.
  • Warning: the task is within the warning threshold of its due date (30 days out of the box), shown in orange.
  • Danger: the task is within the danger threshold of its due date (7 days out of the box), or the due date has already passed, shown in red.

The status is calculated in whole days, so a task that is due today is not treated as overdue.

To set a due date on a task, go to the task edit screen and fill in the Due Date field on the right-hand side. The due date is shown as a coloured label in Task Management and, since version 1.6.0, in the Checklist as well, and both overviews can be filtered on it.

Plugin options

Available since version 1.6.0. Open the plugin under System > Manage > Plugins and search for Checklist - Due Date.

Warning threshold (days) Number of days before the due date from which a task is shown in orange. Default: 30.
Danger threshold (days) Number of days before the due date from which a task is shown in red. Tasks that are past their due date are always red. Default: 7.

Both thresholds apply everywhere the due date is used: the colours in the Checklist and in Task Management, and the due date filter in both overviews. Before 1.6.0 these values were fixed at 30 and 7 days.
