Documentation: Social Share Plugin

Install the plugin

Before you install, make sure your site meets the requirements below. Check with your host if you are not sure, or look under System > System Information in the Joomla administrator.

Requirements

  • Joomla! 5.x or 6.x
Plugins for Joomla 3.x and 4.x are still available for download, but without the latest features.
Support for Joomla! 3.10 ended August 2023.

Before you start

  • Make a full backup of your site. Akeeba Backup is a quick way to do this.
  • Update to the latest version of Joomla.

Install by upload

  1. After downloading the installation file, go to System > Install > Extensions in your Joomla administrator.

  2. Select the file in the Upload Package File tab. After a few moments, Joomla confirms the extension is installed.

  3. The plugin publishes itself automatically. Go to System > Manage > Plugins, find Content - Social Share in the list, and check that it's set to Published.

Install from web

  1. Go to System > Install > Extensions and open the Install from Web tab.
  2. Search for Joomill to find all our extensions.
