# Reset Weblinks hits

Reset Hits can also set the hit counters of your **weblinks** back to zero. This works with the [Weblinks component](https://github.com/joomla-extensions/weblinks) for Joomla.

 **Weblinks is not part of Joomla core.**  
Since Joomla 4, `com_weblinks` is a separate download and is no longer shipped with Joomla itself. The weblinks reset only appears in the module when the Weblinks component is installed and enabled on your site. If you do not use weblinks, the row stays hidden and nothing changes for you.

 Available from Reset Hits **5.2.0**.

 
## Reset weblink hits

 When the Weblinks component is installed, a **Weblinks Hits** row appears in the module on your dashboard, below Redirects 404 Hits. Press the reset button on the right to set the hit counter of your weblinks back to zero.

 The reset only touches the hit counter. Your weblinks themselves are untouched: the URLs, categories and publication state all stay exactly as they are.

 **Keep in mind:**   
You reset all weblinks that match your selection.   
Reset cannot be undone.

 
## Show or hide the option

 Like the other reset types, the weblinks row can be switched off in the module settings.

## Reset options

 **Reset options** are only available in the PRO version.

 In the PRO version you can narrow the reset down with the same kind of filters you already know from the article and banner resets. Press the **Options** button next to the Weblinks Hits row to open them.

| - Select category - | All weblinks in this category will be reset |
| - Select language - | All weblinks with this language will be reset |
| - Select author - | All weblinks created by this user will be reset |
| - Select featured - | Only featured / un-featured weblinks will be reset |
| - Select state - | All weblinks with this state (published / unpublished / archived / trashed) will be reset |

 **Toolbar reset buttons** are only available in the PRO version.

 The PRO plugin also adds a **Reset Hits** button to the Weblinks screens themselves. On a weblink edit screen it resets only the weblink you have open. On the weblinks list it resets every weblink that matches your current list filters, so the search, category, status, access and language filters you already use.

## Permissions

 A user needs **Edit State** permission on the Weblinks component to reset weblink hits, the same permission they need to publish or unpublish a weblink.
